A custom-designed diffuser that combines aromatherapy, humidification, Bluetooth audio, and LED lighting into a single modern product.
Challenge
The client wanted more than another generic aromatherapy diffuser.
The goal was to create a unique product that balanced multiple functions while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic suitable for retail. The design needed to accommodate airflow, lighting, speaker placement, controls, manufacturing requirements, and packaging, all while staying cost-effective for production.

My Role
I led the project from initial concept through production, developing the product design, refining functional requirements, creating manufacturing specifications, reviewing prototypes, designing the retail packaging, and collaborating with vendors to bring the final product to market.
Outcome
The final design successfully combined four distinct functions into a single product while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic. The product moved from concept sketches through production and retail launch, providing the client with a distinctive alternative to existing diffuser designs on the market all while staying within budget without compromising quality.
DESIGN INTENT & DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
Starting with hand sketches and feature mapping, I explored multiple form factors before developing a final design centered around airflow, lighting visibility, and speaker performance.
PRODUCT DETAILS
AIR VENT
The top vent was designed to optimize mist output while maintaining the product's clean silhouette.
LIGHT PATTERN
Custom cut-outs allow LED light to diffuse evenly throughout the body, creating ambient lighting.
FUNCTIONAL BASE
The base houses the speaker, controls, and lighting components while maintaining a compact footprint suitable for retail environments.
